In 2001 census, Ambala had a population of 1,014,411 of which males were 542,977 and remaining 471,434 were females. Ambala District population constituted 4.45 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Ambala District was at 4.80 percent of Maharashtra population.
