In 2011, Vadodara had population of 4,165,626 of which male and female were 2,153,736 and 2,011,890 respectively. In 2001 census, Vadodara had a population of 3,641,802 of which males were 1,897,368 and remaining 1,744,434 were females. Vadodara District population constituted 6.89 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Vadodara District was at 7.19 percent of Maharashtra population.
