Gaya District - Population 2011-2024

An official Census 2011 detail of Gaya, a district of Bihar has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Bihar. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Gaya District of Bihar.

In 2011, Gaya had population of 4,391,418 of which male and female were 2,266,566 and 2,124,852 respectively. In 2001 census, Gaya had a population of 3,473,428 of which males were 1,792,163 and remaining 1,681,265 were females. Gaya District population constituted 4.22 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Gaya District was at 4.18 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 26.43 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Gaya District recorded increase of 30.03 percent to its population compared to 1991.


Gaya Literacy Rate

Average literacy rate of Gaya in 2011 were 63.67 compared to 63.67 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 73.31 and 53.34 respectively. Gaya Child Population

In census enumeration, data regarding child under 0-6 age were also collected for all districts including Gaya. There were total 783,059 children under age of 0-6 against 687,369 of 2001 census.
