In 2011, Gaya had population of 4,391,418 of which male and female were 2,266,566 and 2,124,852 respectively. In 2001 census, Gaya had a population of 3,473,428 of which males
were 1,792,163 and remaining 1,681,265 were females. Gaya District population
constituted 4.22 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Gaya District was at 4.18
percent of Maharashtra population.
There was change of 26.43 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Gaya District recorded increase
