In 2011, Tirap had population of 111,975 of which male and female were 57,604 and 54,371 respectively. In 2001 census, Tirap had a population of 100,326 of which males were 52,537 and remaining 47,789 were females. Tirap District population constituted 8.09 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Tirap District was at 9.14 percent of Maharashtra population.
There was change of 11.61 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Tirap District recorded increase of 17.33 percent to its population compared to 1991.
