An official Census 2011 detail of Wardha, a district of Maharashtra has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Maharashtra. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Wardha District of Maharashtra.

In 2011, Wardha had population of 1,300,774 of which male and female were 668,385 and 632,389 respectively. In 2001 census, Wardha had a population of 1,236,736 of which males were 638,990 and remaining 597,746 were females. Wardha District population constituted 1.16 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Wardha District was at 1.28 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 5.18 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Wardha District recorded increase of 15.87 percent to its population compared to 1991.
