In 2011, Amravati had population of 2,888,445 of which male and female were 1,480,768 and 1,407,677 respectively. In 2001 census, Amravati had a population of 2,607,160 of which males were 1,345,614 and remaining 1,261,546 were females. Amravati District population constituted 2.57 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Amravati District was at 2.69 percent of Maharashtra population.
