An official Census 2011 detail of Nagpur, a district of Maharashtra has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Maharashtra. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Nagpur District of Maharashtra.

In 2011, Nagpur had population of 4,653,570 of which male and female were 2,384,975 and 2,268,595 respectively. In 2001 census, Nagpur had a population of 4,067,637 of which males were 2,105,314 and remaining 1,962,323 were females. Nagpur District population constituted 4.14 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Nagpur District was at 4.20 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 14.40 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Nagpur District recorded increase of 23.74 percent to its population compared to 1991.


Nagpur Literacy Rate

Average literacy rate of Nagpur in 2011 were 88.39 compared to 88.39 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 92.09 and 84.51 respectively.
