Mizoram Population goes upto 10.91 Lakh : Census 2011

According 2011 Census of India, Mizoram’s population has reached approximately 10.91 Lakh an increase of 22.78 percent from the past decade. Mizoram feeds approximately 0.09% of India’s total population.

As per census report of Mizoram, of total population figures 1,091,014 male and female were 552,339 and 538,675 respectively. In 2001, Mizoram’s population was 888,573 approximately 8.89 Lakh.

Mizoram is one of the states or Union Territory of India having total area of 21,081 sq km. currently density per sq. km in Mizoram is 52 per Sq.km which stand above than national average density of India currently being at 382. If measurement is shifted from Kilometer to Mile, Mizoram’s total area becomes 8,139 Sq mi having density of approximately 134 per Sq mi.

As per preliminary report of Census 2011, Mizoram has literacy rate of 91.58 which is above national average of 74.04 percent. Total 847,592 people were found literate in Mizoram as per 2011 census report. In 2001, Mizoram had 88.80% literacy rate.

In literacy, of total 847,592 literate populations, 438,949 were male while remaining 408,643 forms female. In percentage, male were 93.72 percent literate while female were having 89.40 percent literacy. In 2001, male and female were having literacy rate of 92.53% and 86.75% respectively. Total literate in 2001 census were 661,445 of which male and female formed figure of 350,105 and 311,340 respectively for Mizoram.

With regards to Sex Ratio also known as Gender Ratio, Mizoram surpass average sexratio of India. India’s average Gender Ratio increased to 940 from the past figure of 933. As of 2011, Mizoram’s Sex Ratio stands out at 975 which was at 938 in 2001 census.
