An official Census 2011 detail of Gumla, a district of Jharkhand has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Jharkhand. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Gumla District of Jharkhand.

In 2011, Gumla had population of 1,025,213 of which male and female were 514,390 and 510,823 respectively. In 2001 census, Gumla had a population of 832,447 of which males were 418,784 and remaining 413,663 were females. Gumla District population constituted 3.11 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Gumla District was at 3.09 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 23.16 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Gumla District recorded increase of 17.65 percent to its population compared to 1991.


Gumla Literacy Rate

Gumla Child Population

In census enumeration, data regarding child under 0-6 age were also collected for all districts including Gumla. There were total 173,647 children under age of 0-6 against 157,977 of 2001 census.
